At Saint Mark’s Primary School we aim to provide an education of the highest standard for all of our pupils. Within the secure, caring ethos of a Catholic school, we have a very real commitment to genuine partnership with Pupils, Parents and the wider community, supporting our children in every aspect of their spiritual, intellectual, personal, social and emotional development.

Our children are happy, secure and enjoy learning. The school works in a climate of continuous improvement with all having a commitment to high attainment. Pupils are encouraged to work hard, to have high levels of attendance and to wear their school uniform. Homework is part of the school culture and parents and pupils enjoy this. The children are encouraged to take leadership roles in the school through the very valuable School Council, Buddies and the Junior Road Safety Officers.

Our experienced teaching staff is committed to meeting the needs of all learners, providing a challenging curriculum that ensures success as our pupils are fully prepared as confident individuals to take on their role as responsible citizens and effective contributors in their community.

As a member of the John Ogilvie Learning Community we enjoy close links with our colleagues in John Ogilvie High School, the local Primary Schools and Pre school nurseries to the benefit of our pupils. We readily access the skills and expertise of other professionals when required to support the individual needs of our pupils and their families to ensure social justice and equality of opportunity.

Our school is privileged to have the support of Father Dominic Quinn, the Parish Priest of St. Peters Church, who visits the school as our School Chaplain .

Parents and Carers are made most welcome at the school. We have a committed Parent Teacher Association and active Parent Helper Programme where parents support the work of the School. We have an established Parent Council which develops and extends the role of parents further in the life of the school community.

Finally, if you have any questions or queries; please do not hesitate to get in touch with me. I am very happy to be leading the community of St Mark’s Primary School as Head Teacher and would be delighted to show you round our establishment, introduce you to our staff and pupils and answer any questions you may have.

Mrs. Caroline A. Campbell, Head Teacher
